I imagined myself receiving such a postcard one day, maybe you too? This is a much more futuristic continuation of my previous piece "Sailing Over The Beams" I hope this one would encounter the same enthousiam. Thanks for your comment. All made in photoshop CS3. All stocks are mine.

Yet another piece of your work that amazes and inspires me, this piece has a lot going on, great quality, great details, a fantastic view of mountains, as well as the planet/moons in the distance, the flying ship reminds me of the Star Wars Y-Wing, which is also a nice touch, whether or not you intended for it to look like that. The bit I have to love the most is the sun's glow, at least, I think its the sun, or some source of light, the glow emits a nice red/orange glow over the landscape, the anamorphic flares coming from the light sources also adds a great deal of detail to the surrounding areas, the clouds in the sky look incredibly artistic, You can see a little bit of space as well, which I think are meteor showers near to the distant planet. The snow over the mountains are incredible, the structures built onto the mountains look incredibly futuristic. Great job, keep it up!
Could you tell me how you did those lines in the very top-right? They look like meteors? And how did you create these fissures with smoke coming out? I'm so awestruck!
wow it's an old one but the hole and fissures were painted plus I used the smudge tool for the sort of tentacles smoke coming out. The meteors like you say are indeed ones and were just a round dot with soft brush I stretched by selecting with a square from the left to the middle of the dot to only stretch the left part to make a tail and keep the right part round for the head of the meteor comet. hope this is helping.
Painted?? I've never been a good painter! This method I've tried, but maybe I'm just over complicating it... Thanks for the tips! If I create something using your tips I'll link you to it
your image centre is completely put in the dark and thus looks flat and empty. It needs distinguishable stars and a bit of a nebula. Your impact looks cool, but we dont really know what's your right part of the picture. Try to think about depth and how to create it with close objects and very far away elements. Your focal point is your impact so your image globally needs to convey the eye towards this focal point.
