Frozen Gold by Shue13 Frozen Gold by Shue13
Some may recognize in this Matte painting, the beautiful city of Stockholm in Sweden. Back from my trip there, I wanted to bring a futuristic look to this panorama I shot on a bright daylight around Stureplan with such magic between the gold sun reflections and the frozen aspect of the water. I truly fall in love with this city and respected its original look and archi on the foreground with some additions here and there to make the whole scene work.
Hope you'll like it!!

Seriously, this picture makes me boil with optimism for the coming technological singularity, looks like a land which could exist easily in the future in cybernetic universes. the maximum computational power of one joule of energy is 6*10^33 cal per second for nano tech. Sufficient to create a virtual reality universe the size of the Earth, indistinguishable from real reality for anyone who wants to immerse themselves inside.

50 years from now, we will all be super intelligent enhanced humans who could create such virtual realities in masses the sized of a baseball lump. We will be able to create autonomous beings who could live in such universes, playing god is our future.

Well, I can agree with you in part, most of the older buildings are really charming, but they jostle for attention nowadays with all those neon signs and so many horrible facades around.

You're welcome though :3
