Orbital Nation by Shue13 Orbital Nation by Shue13
Condamned to exhile, a population completely left the earth to live inside a giant metal orb from their own conception and technologies. A new extra-nation in orbit rose, able to control their own artificial planet they live into.

3DSmax 10, Photoshop CS3

Really cool and quite original I thought. An epic scene with a good back story that drew me in and made me want to find out more.

The variety of colours and star-ship models make the impact all the greater and illustrate the high skill of the artist. I particularly liked the contrast between the blue/green left and the yellow/red right side.

I did feel that a slightly wider shot would have lessened the slightly cramped feel to it, though this has worked well to make the pic busy and really interesting. Definitely down to personal viewpoint :)

Epic picture overall and one that is going into my favorites :)

You are welcome, I have been a science fiction fan since I can remember, my dad read alot of science fiction, he found it interesting since he was in the Air force, now I am trying to develop concepts to save Earth and all the work we humans have lived and died for.... the technologies we need is not only immense, impressive, of great magnitude, but will also be inspirational for all of eternity.  Technologies such as controlling the sun, but also building a new planet here in this solar system,   technologies that will need Faster than light travel, so it gets done in a reasonable time frame.  This is relevant because I find your work and design concepts good to help me focus on the goal that humanity is facing.

Science fiction artists like yourself are inspirations to concepts and designs for actual technologies... Some serious technologies of great orders of magnitude and logic need to happen if Humanity is going to Survive the Universe... Such as an artificial planet like this, something with a dynamic core or core engines that can transport the planet anywhere it has coordinates to.

I sure like this art, and it well done, even if the orb is a bit messy. I don't really get it.

Mon regard a de la peine ą cerner les formes, ą cause de toute les rainures qui parcourent l'orbe. Voilą ^^

Quite honestly I don't know why you weren't an artist involved in making the Mass Effect games. Don't ever stop making art, it would be a crime. Thanks for the picture!
