The Devil's Teeth

I almost did a double take to make sure it wasn't a video. The picture is so full of dynamic contrasts and movement that it had me fooled. The craggy rocks are spectacularly veined with molten rock, and the volcano spewing smoke in the back above a lake of fire does perfectly as a source of light.
I do want to point out the moon in the top right of the picture. This is one section that feels dead. It's flat and lacks the vibrance of the rest of it. This does keep the viewer focused on the center and left, but a little more motion would lend itself to the photo as a whole.
Speaking of whole, the photo has captured me and is taking a firm place in my favourites.
From the molten lake, to the spewing mountainand the architecture built into the rock face, I am truly astounded.
